you better recognize

WEDNESDAY JULY 1st, 2009

well now it's july but june was gay pride month and the l.a. city council (led by openly gay councilman bill rosendahl) took the opportunity to honor several new faces in the lgbt movement at a ceremony last friday. lots of young, minority grass-roots organizers were recognized at a reception hosted by christopher street west followed by a program in the council chambers (broadcast, like most council events, on local cable) and a photo op in the city hall media room.
